First, we would like to express our thanks to Dr Ryan Topping for offering us his reflections on “Why the Church needs the Pope” on 5 June. For anyone who missed his talk, it can be read here: Why does the Church need the Pope?.
Second, for anyone who has not yet responded to Archbishop Collins’ request to indicate to him, in writing by 31 May, their desire to enter the Ordinariate, there is still an opportunity. We have been advised by Fr Bill Foote that His Grace will likely wait until the end of June to send information to the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith. It is very important that individuals make their voices heard, so that the CDF and its delegate in Canada have a clear notion of the numbers and disposition of people who wish to respond to the invitation of the Holy Father in Anglicanorum Coetibus.
Third, Archbishop Collins has been unwaveringly supportive of the Toronto group, and has expressed a desire to visit us. Unfortunately he is unable to attend any of our regular meetings in June, and we are working on finding a time and place to hold a meet-and-greet with the Archbishop in early July. We hope to publish details early next week. Please stay tuned!
